MONA successfully hosted the inaugural event of its new initiative, She Makes Impact, on January 17, 2026 at MARU360 in Gangnam, Seoul. The event brought together community members, partners, and attendees for an afternoon centered on women led entrepreneurship, lived experience, and social impact. The venue was generously sponsored by the Asan Nanum Foundation, supporting the creation of an open and inclusive space for dialogue.

She Makes Impact is an initiative founded and led by MONA’s CEO and Founder, Quinn Phan, with the aim of highlighting women in Korea who are creating meaningful impact through their work, leadership, and personal journeys. Inspired by the founder’s own cross-cultural and entrepreneurial path, the initiative creates space for dialogue, learning, and connection through talks and workshops.

The inaugural session, titled Across Borders: The Journey of a North Korean Woman Entrepreneur, featured Miso Yoon, CEO of MISO Colortic, as the guest speaker. Ms. Phan moderated the conversation and also provided simultaneous Korean English interpretation, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The program opened with a hands-on vegan lipstick making workshop led by Ms. Yoon. Participants created personalized lipsticks from scratch, with formulations tailored to individual skin tones. The workshop emphasized ethical, vegan beauty practices, self expression, and individuality.
Following the workshop, Ms. Yoon shared her story of growing up in North Korea and her journey to building a beauty brand in South Korea. The conversation explored themes of resilience, identity, and entrepreneurship across borders, offering insight into experiences that are rarely discussed in public settings.
The event concluded with an informal networking session, allowing participants to continue conversations and connect in a relaxed, community oriented environment. Guests were also offered premium traditional makgeolli generously sponsored by Boksoondoga, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the event.
The inaugural She Makes Impact event established the foundation for future sessions that will continue to spotlight diverse women and stories shaping social, cultural, and entrepreneurial impact in Korea.
